Madrid has been the capital of Spain since 1562 and has a population of approximately 4,000,000. It is located in the geographic center of the country and because of this convenient location, you can get to any part of Spain in about 4 or 5 hours by car. Madrid is full of contrasts, the old city mixing its ancient character with modern architecture. The city is an important financial and political center where history is made every day. Madrid has found the balance between the country's ancient traditions and the demands of modern life.
All year long, the city offers a great variety of events such as exhibitions, football games, concerts, opera, "zarzuletas", theater, cinema, bullfights and more. Nightlife is lively with people of all ages out at all hours having a good time in restaurants, clubs, discos and bars.
The school (Center of International Studies) is located in the city center and is a well connected area with easy access via 5 bus lines and 9 subway stations. It has 40 classrooms, a large conference room for 90 students, 20 computers with Internet connection as well as 7 video -TVs. The school also has a reading room and a well equipped library and video library. Refreshment/coffee machines provide sustenance with hundreds of local bars and cafés within walking distance.
