Known as "the Golden City", Salamanca has been the site of some of Spain's most significant historical events. With a population of 180,000 inhabitants, about 80,000 of whom are college students, the city is located on the western part of Spain and is known as the area where the purest Spanish is spoken. Salamanca was recently named European Cultural capital of the year as well as a UNESCO "Heritage City" signifying that it represents the best of European culture. Salamanca is home of the third oldest University in Europe and one of the most prestigious in the world.

The school is located in a former convent which has been fully renovated and modernized.
